Caring for your Caesarstone Worktop
One of the biggest selling points of Caesarstone’s brilliant surfaces, aside from their looks, is their low-maintenance nature. However, low-maintenance doesn’t mean that you can treat them with ‘no care at all’, and in this article, we’re going to look into the ways you can take care of your Caesarstone surface. Caesarstone quartz surfaces have a very high heat-resistance level in comparison to laminate and wood worktop materials. However, when it comes to temperatures above 150°C, such as roasting tins and pans straight from the oven, we advise against placing them directly onto the surface. The use of trivets, pan-stands or supports such as the Franke ‘Rollamat’ should be used for very hot items.
There’s no denying that Caesarstone is extremely tough, but it’s not invincible. Strong chemicals, solvents and certain cleaning agents can possibly damage the surface, so it’s important you keep them away from your worktop and only use suitable products. For cleaning products, look for items with pH levels below 11, and if you use products that contain oils or powders, be sure to rinse the surface thoroughly to avoid residue.
Avoid using cleaning products that contain Trichlorethane or Methylene Chloride, such as paint remover.
Removing stains and spills
Things will get spilled on your Caesarstone worktop; that’s an eventuality that even the most careful of people can’t avoid. When this does happen, there’s no need to panic; Caesarstone is tough as it is, but all you need to do to remove stubborn stains is to use a plastic knife or non-scratch pad, then wipe the area down with warm water.
If you’ve got a stain that is more than stubborn, a recommended tactic is to use a non-scratch Scotch-Brite pad in conjunction with a non-abrasive cleaning product. This will remove the stain without damaging the trademark gleam of the surface.
For regular upkeep and maintenance, you can simply wipe down your surface with a microfibre cloth, warm water and a mild soap. Try and avoid exposing the surface to prolonged sunlight, as this can affect the shine of the worktop.
